Fibers main job is to keep the correct amount of water in the stool. Taking any two meds together is usually not a great idea. Take the fiber first thing in the morning with lots of water. then if you need the immodium later take a bit. You might want to consider weaning off the immodium a bit. People with colitis, ibs, and other bowel disorders found that taking soluble fiber is better than taking insoluble fiber. You can google the differences. Can Amoxicillin be used with Cyklokapron and Mefenamic Acid? My Doctor's given me Amoxicillin for a chest infection I've had recently, and I have to take Mefenamic Acid and Cyklokapron at monthly intervals. I didn't have chance to ask her whether I could use them together, as I was unaware that I'd have to use them together until today, could there be side-effects or can they be used safely in conjunction?

Consider challenging your doctor on this and ask him to do testing to back up his diagnosis. Also insist on him explaining his diagnosis instead of just giving pills and an assurance that this will cure the problem if you don't even know what the actual problem is.

For post kidney transplants, what is your dose of Prograf? I am just curious as to what people are taking of Prograf. My dosage changes often. My transplant team says this is normal. I am just curious as to what other people are taking. Mine seems to change according to how much Cellcept I take also. My stomach is very sensitive to the Cellcept. I'm having all sorts of stomach and intestinal problems on it, so they are cutting my dosage down on that. The less Cellcept I take, the higher my Prograf dosage seems to go up. Just curious.. my brother is a kidney trasplant patient too.. he's taking cellcept and neoral.. i have not heard of prograf. the dosages of the drugs are calculated on how much you weigh.. i think the reason why they advised you to take a higher dose of prograf is to compensate for the lowered dose of your cellcept.

17.5 is definitely high. Normal wbc levels are approx. 4-9. If you are on immunosuppressives you should not be mounting such a high level. See a doctor this sounds like a complex case. WBCs indicate infection or inflammation, in really high levels it can indicate a blood cancer or bone marrow dysfunction. Also you may be on a steroid which can increase the wbc count.

I stopped using prograf and steroiids after 10years post kidney transplant and my creatinine is 1.2i noticed many articles about prograf harming transplanted kidney so i self weaned from prograf over a few months and have suffered no consequences. i would like to talk to others like meI have been off prograf nearly 3-years and my current creatinine is 1.2 and all other blood works are in normal range
Get ready to resume dialysis, which I am sure you remember wasn't all that great. PLEASE discuss this with your physician, ASAP.

Was this from a living donor that was a relative? Just curious.I also think that you should check w/ the transplant team; for one thing, your experience might be very useful to them and to others. We definitely need something besides Prograf; it's not good for the kidney. However, I'll stay on mine since I'm doing so well. (Kidney/pancreas recipient in 2005).You might want to check transplantcafe also, since it's full of transplant recipients and even has a group for people on Prograf.

Normally, it is illegal to transfer prescriptions, but I have passed on some expensive drugs myself sometime, and you are correct - that's a drug that's over $2000 retail for a month's supply.. And if they are in sealed bottles, that might make a difference.

Tinnitus is associated with the use of Prograf. There are many other medications that can cause tinnitus, such as Aspirin in high doses, aminoglycoside antibiotics and high doses of loop diuretics like Furosemide. I don't know your other medications, but they should also be reviewed. Several medical conditions are also associated with tinnitus. Let your heart transplant doctor know this. For post kidney transplants, what is your dose of Prograf? I am just curious as to what people are taking of Prograf. My dosage changes often. My transplant team says this is normal. I am just curious as to what other people are taking. Mine seems to change according to how much Cellcept I take also. My stomach is very sensitive to the Cellcept. I'm having all sorts of stomach and intestinal problems on it, so they are cutting my dosage down on that. The less Cellcept I take, the higher my Prograf dosage seems to go up. Just curious.. my brother is a kidney trasplant patient too.. he's taking cellcept and neoral.. i have not heard of prograf. the dosages of the drugs are calculated on how much you weigh.. i think the reason why they advised you to take a higher dose of prograf is to compensate for the lowered dose of your cellcept.

They don't interact however they can be detrimental together if you have any kidney impairment so monitoring of your kidney function and electrolytes may need to be done periodically. To the previous poster who mentioned taking one of these meds during pregnancy I hope you were referring to the Prograf because lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor and is contraindicated in pregnancy as it is known to cause fetal death.
